"My daughter started taking piano lessons from Angus around grade 5 and he taught her for 8 years until she had completed her diploma. In addition to teaching her piano, he provided wonderful piano accompaniment for several of her violin exams up to and including grade 8. Angus had been recommended by a music teacher at the school. As well as being a kind and patient person, he is an excellent teacher who, even at the higher grades, managed to keep the lessons interesting and fun, particularly impressive as a period of the lessons were provided remotely during the pandemic. His focus on technique contributed directly to a marked improvement in my daughter’s playing ability which subsequently led to a run of distinction exam results. Angus has vast musical knowledge and despite his personal passion for Bach, he encouraged the playing of a broad range of music, also allowing my daughter to input into what she was studying, and which pieces made up each exam programme.
